My Story

My name is Jay Daniels.  I am a singer/songwriter who focuses on country, blues and rock & roll.  Whether it be a fast, fun song or a loving, low-tempo ballad, most, if not all, of my music tells a story related to a time in my life, rather it be a reflection or an actual event.

From the beginning, music was in me.  It was me.  It is me.  My given name is “Jason Daniel,” which was the inspiration for the name, Jay Daniels.  I grew up in Mobile, Alabama, listening and playing hard rock and heavy metal. I got my first guitar at the age of thirteen. By sixteen, I began playing live by sneaking into bars and clubs to sit in with my brother’s bands. Here, I found not just the love of playing music, but the fulfillment of sharing it with others and the sheer longing to do that more and more. As an adult, I have continued to develop my craft and have traveled across the world on the cruise ship venue entertaining and learning much about life as well. Currently, I reside in Atlanta, Georgia and continue to write, sing, and produce video of my music, including new projects with new material. (This includes heavy metal music recorded under a different name!)

My latest album, Rock and Roll and Me was released independently in April, 2019.  This album is a rock, country, soulful creation. It’s like a beer, but with something stronger on the side.  It’s different than what you are used to, but gets your attention and keeps you coming back for more.

In August of 2019, I signed with MC1 Nashville. My first major release is scheduled for the Fall, 2019.

Music is a language that connects people in ways like no other. My music is the words from my soul and memoirs from my life.  It is relevant. It is raw. It is risky. It is real.  It’s Jay Daniels. I am honored to share my life with you and am thankful you are on this journey with me.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Jay Daniels
